This is the highest mountain in Africa standing at over 5,800 meters. Mount Kilimanjaro is a part of Kilimanjaro National Park which is often visited for the sole purpose of staring at the mountain. It is often covered in snow and can be climbed at any time. The best time however is during the dry season which in Tanzania is from June to October.

It is best to get help from an expert climber and never climb the mountain alone especially if you have no experience. There are guides around to give you the best Kilimanjaro trekking and hiking tours.

This mountain was believed to have been formed after a volcanic incidence over a million years ago. Today, it stands as the most marvelous site in Tanzania. The highest point of the mountain is Uhuru. On the way to the top of the mountain, you may see elephants, monkeys and even leopards who have found homes along the mountain slopes.

Visit the Island of Unguja (Zanzibar)

The Island of Unguja is best known for its beautiful beaches and rich blue sea. It is a very popular site for tourists as well as a major holiday destination.

Zanzibar is believed to have some of the best beaches in the world and the beaches are well-maintained boasting of soft white sand and clear shallow waters.

Visit the Serengeti National Park

There are so many amazing things to see in Tanzania, but Serengeti Park stands out. It is a treeless grassland with lots of wildlife.

It is the second-largest national park in Tanzania and is home to over 500 species of birds. The Big Five (lion, elephant, African Buffalo, rhinoceros and leopard) can also be seen in the Serengeti National Park.

The best time to visit the park is from June to September as you get to see the animals in larger numbers.

Pay a visit to Lake Manyara National Park
