Sure, the wide seas and beautiful beaches are great, but there are also fun water activities that can be had inside the country like canoeing and kayaking. There are various rivers and waterways that run through the mountains and plains of Belize, most of which are suitable for canoe and kayak enthusiasts of all levels. While paddling through the waters you’ll get to spot some of the wildlife and birdlife that thrive in the riverbanks and jungles of Belize. You will even come across rural villages where you can dock your boats and have a chat with the friendly villagers.
Hiking Expeditions
Walking through the mountains of forests and jungles in Belize is one of the country’s top attractions. There are various hiking trails which offer some of the best walks that you’ll ever experience. Walk amidst towering trees and lush vegetation where the ancient Mayans used to run and hunt. Although most of the trails are designed to be pretty easy and suitable for a self-guided hike, it is still a fun idea to have a local tour guide tag along who will be able to show you more difficult and exciting trails, as well as educate you about the local flora and fauna found in the place including crocodiles and jaguars.
