If you are someone who likes to post YouTube videos then you will no doubt have experienced that sinking feeling of when you have record a great video, spent time on the editing and arranging of it, posted it only to see that nobody watches it. This can be deeply frustrating and leave you feeling a little downbeat about your hopes to become a YouTube sensation. The good news is that if you are not getting many views, it is not necessarily an indicator that your videos aren’t very good, that may be the case, but it is also likely that you aren’t doing enough to get your videos out there for people to see. Here are some ways to be a better YouTuber and find more success.
Are You Engaging Enough?
Some of the most popular YouTube channels and videos are those with the power to engage people. I was watching a video of the prophet TB Joshua the other day, he is a pastor as well as a prophet and the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). This religious-based channel is one of the most popular on YouTube, they have 400,000 subscribers and over 170 million views. The pastor was giving a sermon and displaying all the traits that you need in order to engage people best, he was inclusive in his delivery, utilized body language and tone of voice to keep the attention and also related his points to the viewer. If you want to engage people better then you should look at people like the pastor and learn from it.
Are You Marketing Hard Enough?
The build it and they will come attitude has never worked for anybody and if you want to get eyes on your videos then you are going to need to put it in front of people’s faces. People can search for particular keywords on YouTube that may or may not bring your video up in the search results, there is so much competition on the site that your video may be swallowed up by the sheer number of other videos out there. The best thing to do then is to look to social media as a way of best promoting your videos. Internally sharing your videos on social media will give people the opportunity to see who you are and what you’re about, once you’ve created a bit of a buzz about your videos then you can look to start sharing external links to your YouTube clips and increase your viewership.
Be Consistent
Your first 5, 10 , 15 or 20 videos may not receive much attention but it is still important that you are creating regular, quality content for people to see. The more you publish, the more exposure you have and the more likely it is that people will see one of your videos. The beauty of this is that as your videos start becoming more popular, people will naturally look back through your history of videos thus creating more views for the videos which you thought nobody cared for.
