Worrying non-stop that your husband may be cheating on you could end up driving you nuts.
That said it is important to get to the bottom of things as soon as possible.
Is he spending less time with you or secretive about phone calls or emails? These may well be telltale signs that your marriage is not headed in the right direction.
With that in mind, how will you deal with the situation?
Be on the Lookout for Red Flags
In how to tell if my husband is cheating on me, look for these signs:
- Spending less time at home – The most noticeable sign will be that your husband is spending less time at home. He may use work as an excuse, but that will only go so far. Sit down and talk about the matter with him. Why is he around the home less? Where does he go when not working? Is he getting home at unusual hours? There should be clear signs that something is amiss in the marriage. Do your best to have a level-headed conversation. Yelling and throwing accusations around will not do anyone any good.
- Spotting him where he would not be – Another sign is when you find your husband around parts of town he should not be in. As an example, you go about finding his vehicle somewhere it should not be. This can be a hotel or a home or apartment where you do not know of him having any connection. Although it could be something innocent, it may well be he is meeting up with another woman. If so, how do you go about confronting him? The last thing you want to do is have an all-out confrontation with him and the third party. All that can lead to is possible yelling or worse. Take the time to sit down and tell him you saw him in a part of town where it would not be normal for him to be in. See what his response is when you question him about this matter.
- He begins to withdraw – Last, another red flag is he begins withdrawing from day-to-day life with you. As an example, the two of you have a vacation plan this summer. Now, he shows little or no interest in talking about it. He may even be dragging his feet on confirming reservations for hotels, car rentals and more. Ask him why this is. While he may come up with an excuse or two, he might also level with you. As difficult as it will be for you to hear that he is cheating and may want a divorce, it is better to get the truth out.
If you do in fact find out that your husband has been cheating on you, your emotions will no doubt be high.
That said do your best to process the matter with a clear head.
Whether divorce is imminent or you save the marriage, a clear head will lead you closer to what you want in the long run.
