Getting funding for anything can be a tricky business and whilst saving up is always an option, you will find that the time you need to work in order to save up, will take you away from what it is that you need the money for. Thankfully, we live in a modern world where it has never been easier to get funding for an idea or an incentive and today we are going to focus on scientific research in particular, and how you can get the money together to make it happen.

Newton’s list is a great place to start for anyone who is seeking financial funding for science research work. This list is a forum based website where you can find access to funding and grants which are being offered by various institutions and donors. You won’t be able to get financial support directly from the list but you should be able to find someone who can put you in touch with a source of funding.
Loans
There are many different loans which you could take out in order to help fund your scientific research. You could be old fashioned and head down to your bank to see if they can offer financial support. Alternatively you could borrow from friends or family, just ensure that you both have a legal contract so as to avoid any issues. Grants
If you head over to grants.gov you will find a large number of grants which are available for a variety of scientific research themes. Here you will be able to specify what kind of area of the sciences which you are look to work within and then discover specific grants which have been set up for it.
National Science Foundation
The National Science Foundation is an independent federal agency set up to help those who are looking for funding in scientific research. Around 20 percent of all scientific funding comes from the NSF and this is one of the places which can help you out in terms of funding your research. You may not be able to secure all of the funds which you are looking for but you will be able to count on a large contribution from the science foundation.
Private Investors
If you think that the research which you are going to carry out will be able to serve a purpose for a particular industry or business then you could count on some investment to help you out. Highlight the industry who may benefit from your research and then reach out to them in order to see if they want to participate in your project. Remember, they can only say no!
The key is not to feel downbeat if you are struggling with funding, there is lots of money out there to be had, you just need to find it.
