Are you an adrenaline junkie? Then Queenstown, New Zealand is without doubt the place for you. Set in a most idyllic location on New Zealand’s south island, this pretty city is surrounded by majestic mountains and on the shores of the clear Lake Wakatipu.

Fantastic skiing is to be had at one of Queenstown 5 ski fields. Queenstown is within easy reach of Coronet Peak ski resort (about 20 mins away) and The Remarkables , Treble Cone (about 90 mins), Cardrona and Snowpark.
The skiing at Coronet Peak, Cardrona and The Remarkables is great for skiers of all abilities. If you really want to get that adrenaline rush then Heli Skiing might well suit you. The helicopter ride up in the spectacular Southern Alps is amazing, and then you get to ski or board down the virgin snow. This is serious skiing while you can also go cat skiing with Queenstown Snowcats. Queenstown also offers a range of other exciting winter sports. Want to try ice skating or go snow shoeing or drive a snowmobile? Then it can all happen in Queenstown.
2. Shoot the rapids
Queenstown is the water sport capital of New Zealand! Take a ride on the world famous Shotover Jet through the Shotover canyons, enjoy a Dart River Jetboat Safari through the stunning Mt Aspiring National Park or a pleasant cruise on the historic TSS Earnslaw steamboat on Lake Wakatipu.
3. Biking and trekking
This is seriously beautiful country and walks and rides are available from your doorstep or even further inland .There are many options from a quiet stroll, to the full on – you have got to be kidding me – walks or rides along gorges, crossing serious ravines and waterways.
4. Take to the skies, literally
Queenstown’s stunning scenery is ideal for helicopter flights, plane flights, private heli-tours and hang gliding. You adrenaline junkies may opt for full on adventures like an aerobatic flight, sky diving or paragliding! Regardless, you will love the incredible aerial views of the lakes, mountains, and towns of this magnificent region of New Zealand.
5. Bungee jumping
Just a bit crazy but you can jump off a bridge, cable car or from a ledge. Without doubt one of the most popular ways to spend your money for many visitors. . The Canyon Swing 109m – the highest swing in the world, reach speeds of up to 150kph. Still you might prefer to just swing over the canyon!
Queenstown can take you unawares. It looks so idyllic but has killer punch, not literally! And did I mention the night life?
