Many people think of New York as the heart of all civilization. The sites and sounds of city life bring people from all over the world, not to mention the insane amount of dining options available throughout the state. Be sure to check out some of these popular restaurants the next time you visit one of these five cities.

Long Island City

Long Island is home to some of the amazing local eateries that stay under the radar of tourists, one of which includes Manetta’s Ristorante. This gem of a restaurant serves some of the best Italian food in the city. Order anything from pizza and pasta to steak and seafood, as long as you don’t forget to order the molten chocolate cake for dessert. Other quality restaurants include Beija-Flor, LIC Market, and Cafe Henri. When you book from one of these Long Island City hotels, you’ll be sure to find some great options for food in the surrounding area.

Jamaica

Although nothing like the small island in the Caribbean, the town of Jamaica, New York offers much more to tourists when it comes to dining options. One of the most popular is Matteo’s of Howard Beach, which serves traditional Italian cuisine. Its large family-style meals make it a great option for the whole family and large groups. Other noteworthy eateries in Jamaica include The Door, 144 Restaurant and Lounge, and Gaby’s Pizzeria. Just like the restaurants, hotels in Jamaica won’t leave you disappointed.

Brooklyn

Brooklyn is jampacked with restaurants that appeal to everyone, and many of these are traditional Italian eateries. One of the best Italian options here is called Oregano – some people even claim that it serves the best pizza in all of the state. Be sure to come for dinner because its doors don’t open until 5PM, and be prepared to wait for an available table. Seating is limited, and this restaurant is no secret to locals or even fellow tourists. As soon as you check in to one of these Brooklyn hotels, head over to Oregano on Berry Street.

Buffalo

Though much different from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or other parts of New York, Buffalo is just as impressive when it comes to food options. During your trip, you’ll want to make sure to visit Left Bank. It serves quality food from all over the world, and if you’re in town on a Sunday it would be wise to check out the Sunday brunch offered here. Other great options are Hutch’s, Suzy Q’s Barbeque Shack, and Balkan Dining. There are many Buffalo hotels near each of these restaurants, so book a room soon.

White Plains

You’ll find some hearty options in White Plains, New York, such as Melt Sandwich Shop. These huge sandwiches will leave you feeling satisfied. Melt is a great place for grabbing lunch and taking a break from sightseeing. It is extremely casual and fast dining, so grab a sandwich before making your way back to one of these White Plains hotels.
