Located a short drive from the Northeast or a cheap flight from anywhere in the United States, Toronto is the crown jewel of Canada. With tons of art, sports, and nightlife, Toronto is a prime destination for anyone from young adults to families. If you want something a bit out of the ordinary, consider the city as your next vacation choice.
Depending on your interests, it’s worth researching a few cheap hotels in Toronto. By doing this, you assure yourself that you are only a short distance from all of the places you want to see. Here’s just a few of the many best attractions in Toronto.
The CN Tower
No trip to Toronto is complete without a visit to the iconic CN Tower. Adorning the city skyline, the tower stands at a majestic 1,815 feet, making it the tallest tower in the world and the tallest structure in the Western Hemisphere. Feel free to conquer your fear of heights by traveling to the top, where there’s a glass-bottom observation deck and a restaurant. Daredevils will love the new Edgewalk, which allows you to traverse the outside via a tether. Cheap flights to Toronto make this excursion even more appealing.
The National Hockey League Hall of Fame
The NHL Hall of Fame is the only professional sports league based in the United States to have its hall of fame outside of the United States. For the biggest hockey fan, it’s a life changing experience, but it’s still entertaining for everyone. Go see the Stanley Cup or marvel at some of the exhibits. Another fun option is to get in the booth and try your hand at commentary. The Cambridge Suites Hotel is right nearby, so you won’t miss a minute of exploration.
This historic landmark was once the home of Henry Pellatt, a famous Canadian financier. Today, it is open to visitors as the only castle in North America. Guided tours are given daily at a price of $24 for adults and $14 for children. There’s even a café and gift shop. Seeing how the wealthy lived 100 years ago is well worth the price of admission, and you’ll leave with a sense of astonishment.
If you’re in the mood for a cheap drink, a good chat, and some interesting decor, check out one of many dive bars in the city. Lee’s Palace is the home of the graffiti-laden Dance Cave and some great drink specials. Also, check out The Horseshoe. It’s been known since 1947 as the premier bar to see live music, but not just any live music. Instead, it prides itself on unleashing up-and-coming bands from in and out of the country, making it well worth the visit.
No matter where you decide to spend your time in the city, you’ll find the city clean, the people friendly, and the accommodations unbeatable. There’s so much to do, you may want to sit down with your friends and family and narrow it down. You won’t be disappointed.
